Currently, I’m working on a website dmvboardgames.com It is a non-commercial open source website where people can find or host board game websites.
The main goal of dmvboardgames.com is to promote human connection through board games as a way of increasing interest in public spaces. In the long term, I want to have an open source platform that other people can use to self host their own event websites for specific locations and interests. dmvboardgames.com is part of a larger initiative to promote public spaces at https://createthirdplaces.org/.
I plan to make a 501(c)(3) non-profit called Create Third Places. I am also working on creating a side consulting business for generative AI free software that promotes in person interaction.
As a kid, I enjoyed the board game Risk, so I decided that creating a real-time version of Risk would be an interesting project. My ideas for the game still changed, but Clash of Empires maintains its roots as an RTS version of Risk. I also have an in progress protoype for a board game version.
